Our firm has made a commitment to mindfully offering its pro bono (free, for the good of the public) legal services.
If you just want to say hi, check out our offices, and talk with our Client Services Coordinator, Barbara L. Fish, to determine whether yours is a matter with which we can help you, to learn more about our firm and how we work, and to schedule an appointment for professional legal advice, please feel free to call or stop by any time for a free initial consultation with her! We also encourage you to attend one of our regularly-scheduled free, educational workshops or to coordinate with us to present one for your group.
If you would like to sit down, one on one, with Attorney Danielle G. Van Ess to ask for her professional legal advice, please be prepared to pay a professional legal consultation fee at that time. Danielle will listen to your concerns, answer your questions including some you didn't even know you had, counsel and advise you, and do the "invisible" part of the work right then and there. That fee will be rolled into or credited against your fee when you engage us and the rest of your fee will be due when we deliver the work in a way you can see it, on paper.
We want to help you get the professional legal services you need affordably. We charge flat fees, rather than billing hourly, for almost all of our work and we accept credit cards so you can budget accordingly.
Once we have decided to work together, we will review the terms and conditions of and sign a contract, our "engagement agreement," that clearly states the total flat fee and what it includes, so you won't have any unpleasant surprises. We really like our clients and enjoy hearing from them; we don't want them to be afraid of getting nickel and dimed for contacting us!
